There are three sealing forms for pressure vessel flanges: forced sealing, self tightening sealing and semi self tightening sealing.
The following is a detailed introduction to the three sealing forms of pressure vessel flanges:
(1) Forced sealing. The sealing surface is compressed by tightening the connecting bolts between the end cover and the cylinder flange, so as to achieve the purpose of sealing, such as flat gasket seal, kazari seal, etc.
(2) Self tightening seal. The pressure of the medium in the container is used to produce a pressing force on the sealing surface to achieve the purpose of sealing. Its sealing force increases with the increase of medium pressure. Therefore, it can maintain reliable sealing performance under high pressure, such as combined seal, O-ring seal, C-ring seal, B-ring seal, wedge seal, octagonal gasket and elliptical gasket seal, flat gasket self tightening seal, wood seal, nitrogen seal, etc.
(3) Semi self tightening seal. Both the pressure of the medium in the container and the connection of fasteners are used to produce a pressing force on the sealing surface to achieve the purpose of sealing, such as double cone sealing
